Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic who is also a popular public speech writer. She was the creator of Feminist Frequency the website which hosts videos and commentary analyzing the representation of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning feminist journalist from Canada and a blogger. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that investigates representations of women in popular culture narratives. Committed to deconstructing the stereotypes that are associated with females in pop culture she also is a vocal advocate for issues relating to harassment targeted at women and the other marginalized groups of people in the online space. Holding a master's degree in social and political thought at York University Sarkeesian is also well-known as a sought-after speaker and she has delivered speech at the TEDxWomen Festival and The United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian. university student who has been interested in issues related to gender and feminism since a long time. The determined young lady was harassed on the internet for her website featuring a series about gender and videogames. But the assault did not deter her instead it was a boost to her determination to be a feminist media critic. She is a recipient of several awards for her contributions to the cause of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her work as a critic of media and also founded Feminist Frequency. The non-profit examines how women are depicted in pop culture today.
